Mike Dow

Executive Director

Mike has spent 25+ years leading businesses across the globe, in roles running the gamut from management consultant to CEO, and in locations from Northern Michigan and Washington DC to Saudi Arabia. His work and companies have been featured in several publications, including Fortune Magazine and his company's recognition in Washingtonian Magazine as one of the area's Great Places to Work. He's spent the last several years working with several ABA providers, to include being a founding member, President, and Executive Director of the Michigan Behavior Analysis Providers Association (MiBAP), a non-profit established to promote access to the science of ABA in the state of Michigan.

In his spare time, Mike is an author. His science fiction trilogy, Dark Matters, rose to #1 in Amazon e-book sales in April 2016, soon after its release. He also enjoys golf, travel, and his ongoing efforts to do better than his wife at fishing. Mike grew up in the suburbs of Philadelphia, earning his undergraduate degree at the University of Virginia Engineering School, followed by the Harvard Business School General Manager Program. He currently lives in Traverse City, Michigan, with his wife and two daughters.

 

Bethany Billman

Director of Human Resources

Based out of Traverse City, Bethany joined the North Arrow ABA team in Jan 2025. Bethany has a BA in Journalism & English from UW-Madison and after trying out a few other US cities and travelling has happily returned to her casserole-laden Midwestern roots. Bethany has senior citizen beagles and loves carrot cake with cream cheese frosting, management coaching, nerding out on employee benefits, creating art, playing Boggle, and biking around town. Bethany got her start in HR through her "first career" working for nonprofits in both New Orleans and Chicago and since then has had experience in the architecture & design, tech and healthcare industries. She is passionate about breaking the mold of how Human Resources writ large supports and retains staff, through fresh, forward-thinking strategies that benefit employee, clients and the organization as a whole. Bethany is humbled to work alongside such a talented and passionate team. Onwards and upwards!

 

Macrina Cipa

Director of Client Services

Originally from Washington, MI, Macrina relocated to Traverse City after graduating from Michigan State University. She got her start in the field of Applied Behavior Analysis in 2012, when she worked as a Registered Behavior Technician. Using her passion for business and outreach, along with the clinical experience, Macrina moved into various roles within the ABA industry, from leading Client Admissions to managing outreach efforts. Her current role as Director of Client Services leverages her multifaceted experiences to increase our team's efficiency and deliver clinically recommended services to our families, when and where they need us. Outside of work, Macrina enjoys paddleboarding, hiking, golfing, chasing sunsets, and spending time at the beach. 

 

Jo Hency

Director of Administration

Jo entered the ABA field in 2015, and has since built strong relationships with our community providers and families, contributing an abundance of expertise in billing, compliance, and general healthcare and mental health administration. She earned her Administration Specialist including Billing and Coding certification in 2013 from Performance Training Institute then went on to obtain a Professional Compliance Officer certification from AAPC in 2019. In her free time, Jo enjoys journaling and crocheting, along with spending time with her friends and family.

 

David VanSlembrouck

Talent Acquisition Specialist

Based out of Traverse City, David joined the North Arrow ABA team in September 2022. He has a Bachelors in Human Resource and Development with a Minor in Training and Design from Oakland University. David grew up in Petoskey and is an avid outdoorsman. He enjoys kayaking, hiking, climbing, biking, trail running, or anything that gets him outside. He shares a passion for traveling and experiencing our National Parks with his wife and three kids. His favorite part of the job is connecting dedicated applicants with our clients and seeing them succeed and grow into their new roles. His goal for the future is making North Arrow ABA the type of company that everyone wants to join and no one wishes to leave.
